sort this, without success.

"Quotefix".

but I can only get it to talk to my email server, not my news
server.

Ouch! That's not much help.
I might have to persevere with my semi-automatic AllChars macro.

I just downloaded the version for Outlook Express (not the Outlook
version) and it handles the Usenet news okay.

Arrrrh! Dumb of me. Yes, this one, OEQuoteFix, looks like it's working just fine. No hassles at all.
