KEEP YOUR NOSE OUT OF OUR POLITICS
You can rest assured that I don't poke my nose into Welsh politics,
either.
Panu: "White is black. Black is white."
Panu Hoglund is MASSIVELY interfering in Irish and British politics. I
think this is illegal.
What you think is entirely irrelevant.
Panu, ARE you, or are you NOT, interfering in Irish politics?
I am contributing to the Irish language revival, as are many other
foreigners interested in the language for one reason or other.

Stadas isn't politics? Not only signing, but presenting a petition?
This isn't politics? You started the petition!
You are massively interfering in the politics of another country.
What's your problem with it? Neither the TDs nor the Irish embassy in
Helsinki had anything against me "interfering". In fact, I was several
times invited to the embassy to celebrate St Paddy's day, as a friend
of Ireland.
Get real.
I think you are the one who has to get real.
It was a lovely day in Dublin by the way - there wasn't even rain. All
the political parties had been able to find a T.D. fluent in Irish. It
was a good year in many ways, 2004. In that year I met my fiancée for
the first time.

The question of status for the Irish language in the EU hasn't gone
away. Some people may think that the issue was clarified when a weak-
willed motion was passed in Leinster House a few months ago with the
government's support but their commitment cannot be relied upon. The
government were clearly not willing from Day One of the Irish
Presidency to request of the Council of European Ministers that Irish
be included along with the languages of the other new member states
for official status. Having reluctantly bowed to pressure from
cultural, political and language organisations as well as the people
of Ireland, the worry remains that they may not make the request
during the Irish Presidency. That would be totally unacceptable and,
indeed, incomprehensible.
The very effective lobby group, Stádas — based out of Conradh na
Gaeilge -- has kept up the pressure to ensure Irish is recognised in
the EU along with other languages and is asking those who support the
campaign to come along to show your support for this campaign next
Saturday, 24 April, in Dublin at 2 pm.
Fuair ceannaire ó gach páirti cuireadh ón bhfeachtas chun labhairt ag
an ócáid seo (in aon teanga!)
Leaders of all political parties have been invited to address the
march and rally. Over 800,000 signatures have already been collected
on the website by those who believe Irish has a right — along with
Estonian, Maltese, Slovene, etc — to be included as an official EU
language.
Seewww.PetitionOnline.comifyouwish to add your name to this
figure. The person who actually started the website as his
contribution to the campaign is a Finnish man who took it upon himself
to learn Irish! Panu Petteri Hoglund will hand over the signatures to
the Taoiseach at the weekend.
It is very important that this opportunity is not lost — there are
only about six weeks left before the Presidency rotates to another
state.
The march begins at the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Square, at 2pm,
continuing up O'Connell Street to Molesworth Street opposite Dáil
Éireann.
what i think is irrelevant, and you are sending me these messages
anyway?
I am not interested in your thoughts, I am interested in you
apologizing.
and you want an apology?
Not necessarily. Destroying your life permanently with a lawsuit and a
damages claim will do just fine.
the politics you are interfering are also international, as Britain is
involved.
you are trying to influence westminster.
I am not trying to influence anything anymore, because Irish indeed
became an official language of the EU in the beginning of the year
2007. I have never "tried to influence Westminster" in any way.
while the cause is good, your place in it isn't right.
It is not yours to tell me where my right place is.
no. you are too rude, too crazy, and you started this mess.
You have called me without any reasonable provocation a ***-eater, a
homosexual, and what-not. My friend Seán has been following this
altercation from the very beginning, and lest you think cancelling
your postings in Google somehow annihilates them, be warned that you
are wrong: there are other Usenet archives. Your old messages can and
will be used as evidence against you.
so, no apology. just stop bothering me and spamming me, and i will
stop these postings.
So, a lawsuit it will be, then. Very well.
i am in no way against the cause of the irish language - very much for
it, but im not going to be bullied by sb like you.
I am sorry, but it is not bullying to tell you, that you need to take
responsibility for repeatedly defaming me. Your insults have been in
no reasonable proportion to my criticism of your phrasebooks.
And as regards the Irish language cause, it certainly has no use for a
"champion" such as you. With friends like you, no cause needs enemies.
With your bad Irish and worse manners, you can serve the cause only by
keeping away.
