Yes, "vozejk" pronunciation is very common. I immediately thought
of some other examples, a common Czech "zejtra" and "zejtrek"
(zítra and zítrek = tomorrow, adverb and noun),
and "zejrat" (zírat = to stare, verb).

As far as I can see, it happens now and then only after "z",
and of course it still happens to long "í" only. Note, the "í" in your
"vozík" is also long. I would hazard a guess that the "ej"
pronunciation here is a late invention in the common speech
rather than a parallel evolution all the way from the Old Czech.

Or the orthography is hidding the etymology here, ever since Dobrovský
& comp.
replaced -cy- -zy- with -ci- -zi- regardless of etymology. Note that
this
change í->ej is present also in words like "cítit"->"cejtit"
