Oh, by the way, this last remark of yours about Westerners is another instance of nationalistic perspective--you're somehow so special that the languages in your country can't be usefully commented on by linguists in the same way that they comment on every other language they study.

Besides that, considering your feelings about Westerners doing "Margaret Mead-type" study, it really is funny that you *dare* to have opinions about English as you've expressed here from time to time. It's like John McCain endlessly criticizing Barack Obama's lack of experience and then tapping Sarah Palin as his running mate.
