not over it, is that the quoting has to be brief.
My non-idiomatic command of the English language is insufficient as to
appreciate the difference. But if you say so ...
I thought your phrasing worked ok, with an implied [...if you don't wish your readers to get annoyed and/or lost / think you can't write] at the end.
