Which Aramaic version do you propose to use?
I found an online version, within one minute.
You do know that all the extant Aramaic versions are translated from
the Greek, don't you?
No, I didn't know this, and the version I found
online is very different from the one in the
King James Bible. How come?
How do you propose to read the Aramaic when you don't know any Aramaic?
I don't have to read all, I just have to understand
the crucial lines and words, for example in the
line where Jesus drove cattle, sheep and doves
out of the temple, a footnote tells me that the
literal Aramaic idiom of cattle is _bulls_.
Then I looked up the word for bull in Aramaic,
and it's twr (tor), going along with the other
words, Latin taurus and so on, as in the model
case of Saul Levin, and also going along with
Magdalenian TOR for a bull in motion. Meanwhile
my two posts from Saturday afternoon and Sunday
morning are online. You can read more therein.
The Greek version begins: In the beginning was
logos, the word. The Aramaic version I consulted
says: In the beginning was the Manifestation,
Aramaic Milta, a word that has no real equivalent
in English, somehow denoting the essence of
a being or a thing. Can you tell me more about it?
What word came first, logos or Milta?
