In my paleo-linguistic work I encountered

Arabic Allah, Greek logos, and English
Lord. Another word for god is DhAG
meaning able. The supreme Celtic god
Dagda was the good god in the sense
of the able god. DhAG has many derivatives,
among them Latin dux 'leader', German
taugen 'to be fit, able', German Ding English
thing naming a human made object serving
this or that purpose, being able in one or
another sense, while Ugaritic Ding means
god, presumably again in the sense of the
able one(s). The inverse of DhAG, namely
GADh, means good in the moral sense
and is, in my opinion, the origin of god and
God. As the Arabs say quite rightly: God
has many names, and nobody knows the
true name ...
