As I thought, you're looking for a dictionary alphabetized from the
right.
The other type of dictionary is one which goes from "meanings" (or at
least glosses) to the words which have those meanings.
I'm never sure which one people are talking about when they refer to a
"reverse dictionary". My impression is that the terminology is not
standardized.
I'm afraid I cannot be of any bibliographic help, though I have
occasionally wished for such a thing (the reverse-alphabetized). Maybe
somebody else will know.
