There is definitely a difference in POV. The biggest difference is
motives. I seek to be understood whereas they seek to win an
argument, even at the cost of the truth itself. In other words, I
am honest, whereas what they are doing can not reasonably be so
construed. Even those that think they are being honest allow
their biases and pre-conceived notions to essentially control what
they see, and what they say, not allowing much if any true
scientific objectivity into their dialogue or thought processes.
