Your question is not clearly defined. "A random real number can be on
[a list of reals] to an infinite number of digits" does not have any
clear meaning. Rupert gave one interpretation and said that for *that
interpretation* the sentence is true.

He won't say the sentence is true simpliciter since he doesn't know
what *you* mean by the sentence. Why don't you clarify so that he
doesn't have to?

Whoever wrote that sentence could learn a thing about using English
for proper comprehension.
