"AUTOMORPHISMS OF THE MEASURE ALGEBRA"
The measure-preserving transformations of the unit interval form a
Polish group. This group acts on the ergodic measure-preserving
transformations by conjugacy, and this action coincides with
isomorphism of measure-preserving transformations. The main result
of the talk is that this equivalence relation is complete analytic
and therefore not Borel. The argument involves randomized
cut-and-stack arguments. This is joint work with D. Rudolph and
B. Weiss.
