First, not having Boolos' actual assertion, but only a second-hand
paraphrase; second, unfamiliarity with some of the terms; third, trying
to reason about it intuitively (or, as you'd put it, with "informal
logical reasoning"). All of which can be traced to my not being a
'student' of this sort of thing, rather than (as you've claimed) the
opposite.
