Well, that was right.

Well, that was wrong, DESPITE the fact that
"Bedeutung" means meaning. Frege was in the position
of inventing new concepts, and having to borrow old
words to attach them to. We largely had to do the
same thing when we translated him the first time.
But obviously we did it slightly less CONFUSINGly
than the 2nd effort here did.

WHich is, for the purpose of the sense/reference distinction,
WRONG. If meaning is to be viewed at all in terms of the
sense/reference distinction at all, the "meaning" is closer
to the sense than to the reference.

Well, that's stupid.
It completely punts the question of what an accurate
translation might even be.
