Well, I just said it. Regardless of who says it it's a matter of fact that unmoderated USENET newsgroups don't have "members". It's theoretically possible for the moderator of a moderated newsgroup to set up some sort of a membership registration system. I don't know if this has been ever done, but even if it has that's not really relevant as sci.logic is unmoderated.
