I'm claiming that only falsifiable statements
are meaningful (from a scientific point of view).

But why should a scientific point of view apply to mathematics? They are
entirely different subjects, with different objectives.

Remember what my basic thesis is: all of the mathematics that has the
potential to help us understand the world in which we live (i.e. the
observable universe) must have an interpretation as making predictions
about the results of computational experiments.

And this is the thesis that I consider extremely short sighted,
particularly in its failure to consider either history or the future.

You have still not explained the uses in understanding the observable
universe that complex numbers had when they were first developed.
