If you're attempting to get rid of, or perhaps adjust for, the
inherent circularity of all knowledge (which I think is what you're up
to) then I certainly appreciate the effort.

However, I don't think there is a necessary question of correlation
between causation and brain function. At least if we are staying as
far away from solipsism as possible then the modern understanding of
the brain and its function removes the need and the usefulness of what
you're trying to do.
