CBL Puzzle # 37. Back to Basics (Hilbert, Godel et. al.) - Instructions Included




1. Get a blank *** of typing (printer) paper.

2. Get a blue pen (or similar.)

3. Write the word "Hilbert" (without the quotes) in the middle of the
page.

4. Half-way between Hilbert and the top edge write TW.

5. Half-way between Hilbert and the lower left corner write PR and
half-way between Hilbert and the lower right corner write ~DIS.

6. TW, PR and ~DIS are of course the sets of (the Godel numbers of)
the true, provable and unrefutable sentences.

7. Connect the 3 sets with 3 lines, a triangle with Hilbert in the
middle.

8. Hilbert thought that these 3 sets are equal.

9. At the center of each side of the triangle draw an arrow on the
outside of the triangle touching the side but not getting in.

10. Hilbert is inside the fort protected by the sides of the triangle.

11. Who is attacking the fort on 3 sides?
