Click on the spam message, "more options", "report message." If many

This is basically a denial of service attack. It happens when the
spammers buy the Congress and they give them a free reign to disrupt
the Internet instead of putting them in jail.
It's happening on other groups. Google must know about it. They will
lose advertising revenue. So I say abandon Google.

What are the alternatives?

I know that someone is using newsgroup servers which you pay for, such
as Agent which have filters.

Maybe Yahoo can do it too.

Does Yahoo provide newsgroup read and post services?

I'm using aoie which is a free newsgroup server. And I am using Mozilla
thunderbird to pick up the posts. They have a filter which doesn't seem
to work, and the format is not as good as Google in many ways, but the
main thing is that they deliver much less spam.

Are there other news readers to use?
