This is basically a denial of service attack. It happens when the
spammers buy the Congress and they give them a free reign to disrupt
the Internet instead of putting them in jail.

I'm using aoie which is a free newsgroup server. And I am using MozillaAre there other news readers to use?
thunderbird to pick up the posts. They have a filter which doesn't seem
to work, and the format is not as good as Google in many ways, but the
main thing is that they deliver much less spam.
