Hi NG -
in some articles on eigenvector-computation
I read, that the transformation of a matrix into
the Hessenberg-form is seen as a special
useful preconditioner, for instance, for the Schur-
decomposition . With some small experiments I came
to results, which possibly point in other directions.
Can someone explain, what the reasons are to use the
Hessenberg-transformation (the reasons were not explained
in the articles)?
