please recommend a good algorithm for positioning of Design Structure Matrix

Hi all,
I am looking for a better algorithm in order to solve a positioning
problem of Design Structure Matrix, that matrix is showing a complex
product design process, including over 50 steps across enterprises.
Could anybody recommend an algorithm to help solve the problem?
