Ron,
Self-selection bias will often be a limitation in online based
research works.I have tried to mitigate its impact by announcing a
raffle,so that there is another motivation for respondents to
participate in the survey.

Hi,
[snip]
I am a doctoral student in marketing at University of Memphis, TN.For
my dissertation, I am studying the factors that motivate people to be
loyal to email service providers like Gmail.
I have hosted a survey on survey monkey, the research portal. The
survey contains around 90 questions. If you agree to participate in
this study, all you need to do is to visit the following URL and click
on your choices. The survey wouldnt take more than 10 minutes of your
time.

Have you considered the validity of a survey with a self selected
sample gathered in this manner?
