If I am to take this seriously I would say that in terms of contours
fractals are usually used to represent jagged contours and complex
Fourier transforms are usually used to represent smooth surfaces. You
can find many IEEE papers on these subjects. I assume these concepts
could be extended to 3 dimensions. So I would say I don't doubt a
fractal approximation exists for that object but I would say it is
probably not the most compressed representation and thus I question
the motivation. Also this is not a group about fractals and since kids
read newsgroups, I would suggest perhaps discussing fractal
representations of different objects in the future.
