Yes, that is basically right.
a) I used the precompilied version
b) I use XP
c) the message was 'Block Tcl'
d) I cannot find any way of unblocking in MS anti as NOTHING SHOWED.
e) googling suggested Reinstall MS anti -> should wipe blocks --> it
didn't
f) suggestions - use Add/Remove application in 'system control' -> tried
that
g) same as (f) but make sure to remove the directories manually-> tried
that.
h) unistalled maxima, uninstall MS antispy, reinstalled maxima -> still
fails
i) search Registry for 'TCL' 'Tcl' 'tcl - no entries
j) searched regostry for 'maxima' ' Maxima' -> only appeared in most
recent 'google' search entry
k) I installed 5.9.0 and no problem as when the 'block Tcl' message came
up i made sure I chose 'unblock' It works
l) tried command line maxima.bat, xmaxima.bat -nothing happended
m) any other suggestions thanks
n) As I am only 'playing' with maxima, I suppose I could stick with5.9.0,
but that does not help me resolve this problem nor will I have learnt new.
o) I have, in this instance, only learnt ' READ THE PROMPTS CAREFULLY'
Thanks in Advance
