Re: Maple Vs Mathematica : How much of the source code?
There is a vast amount of code in Mathematica's kernel
that cannot be seen. Hundreds of thousands of lines of
code in the symbolic integration code alone.
By contrast, there is very little concealed code
in the Maple system. Basically, the stuff that was
written in C rather than in the Maple language itself,
cannot be displayed. Maple does not display
the comments in the code, however.

The reviewer prefers the Maple GUI and front end, and found
the lack of a Mathematica debugger annoying. On his experiments,
he found the Mathematica numerical integration program to be
faster and more capable.
