I tried this software, but frankly I could not find it
better than open source free software solutions based on LaTeX.
(www.latex-project.org). LaTeX, based on Knuth's TeX,
is the best quality typesetting solution for professional
use, especially for scientific texts, that I am aware of,
since about 20 years.
If you want something completely compatible with LaTeX
a gentle quasi-wysiwig introduction is provided by
kile (kile.sourceforge.net). It runs on Linux and Unix.
A less LaTeX compatible but more wysiwig solution is LyX (www.lyx.org).
LyX uses specific macros that may prevent sharing easily documents
with LaTeX users. It runs on all platforms.
A still less compatible but more wysiwig solution is TeXmacs
(www.texmacs.org). It runs on all platforms.

Hi Folks:.
Perhaps someone here can point me to an appropriate
news group where I can post a wanted-to-buy notice for
a used copy of Scientific Workplace / Scientific Word.
For those who don't know, that's a computer word
processing program (compare: WordPerfect or MS Word)
but with the added ability to compose and edit for
distribution or publication documents containing
Mathematical expressions, equations, inequalities, ....
I need a _legal_ used copy, version >= 3.0 and I can't
afford a new copy from the originator.
TIA for any information.
