This is a font conflict between the typsetting fonts of the two MuPAD
versions. It occurs if you've installed the fonts of MuPAD 3 globally.
(which is not necessary for the fuction of MuPAD).

So, please look into the folders ~/Library/Fonts or /Library/Fonts
and remove the fonts beginning with 'SF ', i.e. 'SF Math Ext'
and 'SF Math Open Face'.

That should help.
