Re: Mathematica 6 is out... when?

I've unsuccessfully tried to guess when Mathematica 6 would be

Dear Mathematica User,

We're excited to tell you that you'll soon be able to upgrade to
Mathematica 6 -- our most important release in almost 20 years.

I think the wording in my Premier Service renewal said I was "guaranteed"
to get 6 if I renewed, which means it will be out by March 2008 (or
I guess they're going to extend my service for free if it isn't :)

But I agree that the signs and portents look good for a release in
the not too distant future.

I believe I also got the message from the renewal process that the
prices of everything will be going up with the release of 6, so that
*might* be a reason to get current on support in advance.

Mathematica 6 will be out before October 2007:

Not yet published. Available: October 2007

This book (or one very similar) previously showed a release date of
October 2006 if I recall correctly, so I wouldn't read much into book
publication dates at the moment. I imagine a number of authors and
publishers have been sitting on manuscripts (or warehouses full of
books) for rather some time now waiting for their NDAs to get canceled
by the release of the software.

Anyhow I hope it makes it out before too long. Having every bug one
reports responded to with "Oh, we fixed that *years ago* in the
development version" gets rather tiresome.
