a (not so) simple problem

Dear all,
I have a math problem regarding the proof of the uniqueness of the
solution of a certain equation. I have spent some weeks on it but have
not been able to solve it. You can have a look at the problem here...

If someone can help, I would be very grateful. I work on signal
processing for wireless communications, I will give proper credit to
the solver of this problem in the paper that I am preparing.
