I am just about to compare symbolic packages for teaching purposes.
I found little to none documentation for Maxima, besides the
reference, and some introductory stuff. Is there any book or tutorial
available. Maybe someone can point me to the right place.
For a start, I was wondering, how one could get Maxima to simplify the
expressions
1) log(100)/log(10)
2) limit(x*((1+1/x)^x-%e),x,infinity)
Both are done by Maple. In 1), I may be missing a reduction function
for logs. And in 2) Maxima is porbably using the wrong method.
