I have the same problem with the sports fans. They use all of these
obscure terms instead of simple English. They're all a bunch of effete
snobs, right? The fact is that as a field becomes more complicated,
jargon becomes necessary, because without it we would have to resort
to complicated sentences in order to communicate even the simplest of
thoughts.

No. The scientific method requires precision, which you have lacked.
What you have done was the equivalent of taking a volume expressed in
ml and treating it as though it were pints. The details matter, and
you have been ignoring them, despite repetition.
