We've played (2 players) until a player reaches 50, starting with a
square approx. 6x6 inches; although I find that if you increase one
diagonal to 8 inches (and start on a short diagonal corner), you've got
more space.
I've wondered whether the game would be more balanced if the two
diagonals were pre-drawn in a "neutral" color.
