Loserville

One thing that I've noticed over the years is that there are always
posters who will reply to me, usually with insults, as if it's some
benefit to them.

The worst of the losers will start talking about themselves!

And I know that they figure they can ride the group effect--the weird
deal where because the group is against me, cows and sheep follow
along.

One guy even made up a contest which he claimed I entered and put up a
webpage.

It's loserville.

What makes these people think that there's anything to gain here?

It seems to me that something about math attracts certain people who
also tend to post on Usenet, who think that something about math is
about convincing other people.

But look at me. I do try to convince people at times, but mostly I
yak, and have a good time doing it.

So I like to talk, like to post, and there are people that I've called
parasites, critic trolls, and other names not so nice, who like to
reply to me...losers.

As if, as if it's all just about attention.

As if all they have to do is jump in and say something nasty to me and
they're in!!!

Losers.
