Why not ask yourself? I haven't noticed anyone else "fighting algebra". I think
you've gotten so wrapped up in your "Pushme-Pullyou" approach to describing
mathematical operations where you get "pushed" out of some ring and have to "pull"
factors out of something that you now imagine you're talking to the animals.
