2x + 3 = x - 2; x = -5. I suppose
(a,b) between when -5 < a and a - 2 < b < 2a + 3
and when a < -5 and 2a + 3 < b < a - 2

Let's look at the lines y = x and y = -x or the lines y = 0 and x = 0.
These lines divide the plane into four regions or infinite areas.
Now do clarify which of the four is between the two lines.
Or what's the area between y = 1000x and y = -1000x?
The horizontal or vertical regions? So you see, there's
some conceptulazation problems about the notion of between.
