Of course, but do you realize that isn't the issue here, where OLD EUROPE
wasn't really very helpful for the victims of the 9/11 attacks against
the US... Even the 'words' of help were of limited temporal value.
It is very true that your answers/comments do help to show (by their
avoidance of the issue) that OLD EUROPE tends to be very superficial.
Friendship in the European sense is purely that of convienience, and
of limited depth, very similar to relationships with prostitutes. Note
that the French 'friendship' with Saddam is very consistent with my
evaluation of old Europe in general. (The abusive worst of capitalist
behavior, too often mistakenly attributed to the US, is actually a much
more prominent part of French ethos than the US psyche of being helpful
to a friend (however sometimes misguided, like BJ Clintons help to
the Chinese military to show them how to build their missiles to destroy
the US.))
In reality, most of the infrastructure that will provide fresh water,
and provide logistical support to the stricken areas will be provided
by the US. Geesh, it is very likely that the US largess will be helping
to save alot of vacationers from OLD EUROPE while they hunt for their
loved ones. Of course, the most terribly stricken people are the
populations that actually live in the destroyed areas. The prominently
European tourists were happily taking advantage of the hospitality of the
stricken communities, and incredibly, many are staying -- further burdening
the system!!!)
Remember:: Old Europe hasn't really shown significant real support to their
lapsed friend: the US. The new US attitude against Old Europe had been
fully controlled and moulded by the Old Europe behavior and explicit
lack of respect against the American people. The complaints against Bush
are merely an excuse for the attrocious behavior of the Old Europe leaders
and totally provincial attitudes of the ethically/morally
decrepit/decayed/rotted Old Europe populace.
