Wish it were that simple but since I do not know the angle that was
used to derrive my sin and I only know the product after the sin then I
can't do that. Arcsin will not help in this instance either.

If I had a function I could derrive which quadrant the sin was in then
I already know quadrant 2 and 3 are negative for the cos. The formula
you gave would easily work if I already knew what the angle was but I
don't.
