The history of sci.math shows that it viciously attacks anyone who
tries to upset the mathematical status quo. It is rare to find someone
here who displays intelligence and a deep understanding of mathematics.
Furthermore, those rare minds that are so blessed seem to have been
stunted by the process of formal mathematical "education" to such a
degree that they no longer possess the capacity to have, or even to
appreciate, original thoughts.
In fact, there is only one person here who is has the intelligence, the
open-mindedness, and the integrity you require. His name is James
Harris, and he is everything you're looking for and more.
Unfortunately, he does not seem inclined to speak to you.
Why not? I'm not exactly sure. Perhaps it's because the howling
Boeotians who populate this newsgroup have worn him down. Perhaps he's
too brilliant and busy to bother with anyone's theories but his own.
Then again, it could simply be that the abusive language with which
your critics have attacked you has offended his delicate sensiblities.
You might think to seek him out, but I'll tell you right now: don't
bother. It's a waste of time to try to be this guy's friend. Either
he deigns to come to you or not. I suppose this makes him a prima
donna, but I when you're that brilliant, it's your prerogative.
There's no need to blame him for assuming he's better than you. He's
nearly always been right in making that assumption before.
It is a shame, though, that you two kindred minds seem destined to go
separate ways.
