IMHO pi = 3.14... and not 1.18...

Why do you think it would converge to pi ?
Your fraction gives (sqrt(33) - 1) / 4

A periodic infinite fraction can't converge to pi, which is
transcendental.
Periodic continued fractions give algebraic numbers.
