Does anyone know how to solve the e-values and e-vectors are for a tridiagonal matrix? Is there a general rule?
If not, the two matrices I'm looking at are:
the outside diagonals being -1 and the middle diagonal being 2. And the middle diagonal being (1-2r) and the outside diagonals being r. Thanks.
