Where do I begin?

The following question is an extra credit problem in my analysis class.
We are allowed to use outside help for the problem, but I don't even know where to begin! Any suggestions on how to even begin solving it?

Determine if the following series converges or diverges:
Sigma from n=100 to infinity of:

((-1)^n)/(ln n + cos n)

Any ideas?
