Re: is C2xD5 isomorphe with D10?



I should have said at least two elements of order 1. I was thinking of
the obvious two elments the non-identity elment of the C2 group and the
element s^2 = 1 that seems to mean the 'flipping' element of the
dihedral group. I didn't bother to look for more after identifying that
(1,0) and (0,s) elements of C2xD5 where 0 is the identity of the
respective groups. Of course this seems to have led me to a serious
error. Thank you all for the swift correction.
