Hmmm...yes, off topic, but you did put math into your subject line

Well, with Mac OS 10.4 you can annotate the pdf files and then use the
Spotlight search function to search all pdfs (including the
annotations). Not very helpful to people running a different operating
system.
Does anyone find annotating pdfs useful for math research purposes?
One drawback is that at least with paper you can draw little useful
figures or add details to a figure. Perhaps with search, annotated
pdfs would be useful enough. I still prefer to look at papers on well,
paper, though.
