What is a "majorized subset"?

A included-in R s.t. there exists M in R s.t. for all x in A, x < M.

Maybe the word "majorized" is not correct.
"has an upper bound" would be better ?

Definitely; just learning the meaning of sup and inf (which are Latin abbreviations) stresses the brains of the poor students to breaking point.
