Don't appologize for that, it's cool that you find mathematics interesting. Just try to be more clear about why you are starting a thread and what you are trying to do.

I don't speak for everyone here, but I usually read/post things here on my down time (i.e. breaks at work, breaks between homework, etc.) so I generally don't consider my time spent on this forum as wasted.
However, there are those times when I get done reading a few posts and wish I could have those two minutes of my life back. : - P
