You don't pay much attention. Many have (and sometimes continue to)
complain.

It is not a question of supporting threads. I use trn, which supports
threads fine and has supported threads for over 10 years. What it does
NOT do, however, is give you an on-screen display of all the posts
that precede the one you are reading, like google does.
