I recommend _Prime_ _Obsession_, by John Derbyshire, as the best of the
recent popular books about the Riemann Hypothesis. He actually
accepts the challenge of explaining the RH, without assuming a
university-level background in mathematics. He actually begins by
calming down any possible misgivings about so-called "imaginary
numbers".

feasible journey. I think that is far better than being told that it's
all perfctly marvelous but we can't explain it to you because that
would be too difficult.
