Re: geometry problem



When I first read this and drew it on my chalkboard, I chose poorly, I
guess -- my PB and QC were parallel! Of course, that forces QA and PD
to be parallel also (which can probably be seen as a supplementary
problem to the posted one).

I used Sketchpad to create an interactive sketch of this; you can view
it in a Java-enabled browser at
http://chazjac.home.sg23.com/scimatha.htm . If you move P and Q about
the circle, note that there's no reason that X and Y must remain in the
interior of the circle. And Philippe92's trick will still work.
