Hi,
The following question appears in the math section of a 'retired' GRE General Test. My claim is that the official answer is incorrect. Can someone provide feedback?
It is given that y = x + (1/x) and 0 < x < 10. Is it true that (A) y > 100, (B) y < 100, (C) y = 100, or (D) there is not enough information to answer this question?
My contention is that (B) is true while ETS contends that (D) is the case.
Thanks.
Peter
Have you copied the question precisely (i.e., verbatim) as stated by the ETS source, or have you paraphrased any of it?
It appears that the discussion tends towards (D) as the correct answer, but the dissension about wording suggests that your wording may be slightly different from that given in the test.
