really simple definition

Im doing some work with some surfaces. and am starting the question some
very elementary stuff.

definition of a polygon to me, any 2D shape made with straight lines all
connected to each other once, and only once (so number of vertices =edges)

polyhedra, and 3D shape made up of polygons basically.
question is it possible to have 4d polyhedra, or are they something special

the final definition which is troubling me
what is a surface.
i thought it was a dimension -1 of the dimension of the shape
so 3d shape, has 2d surface, eg the ball has the surface which is 2d
2d shape (circle) has 1d surface- (the line)

just wondering if these definitions are right.
